It started as a flip. It became something better.
The story behind River Bend Bliss — and why we never sold it.
When the owners of River Bend Bliss bought this property in late 2021, the plan was simple: renovate, sell, move on. Built in 1987 and tucked along River Road in Cedar Creek, Texas, the house was a classic fixer-upper — promising on paper, but in need of serious work.
Then the backyard happened. As the overgrowth was cleared and the renovation neared the finish line, something appeared that changed everything: the Colorado River, running right along the back of the property. Some places earn their way off the market. This was one of them. Instead of listing it, the owners decided to share it — and River Bend Bliss was born.

What we built
The river house is a completely renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that sleeps up to 10. Every detail was reconsidered — the updated kitchen, the plush beds and Roku TVs, the 80-inch living room TV and arcade games that make rainy days feel like a win. It's fully stocked and move-in ready.
For travelers bringing their home on wheels, we added four new full-hookup RV sites and a dedicated laundry room. RV guests get the whole property, too: the river, the viewing deck, fire pit, grills and yard games. Whether you're in the house or parked in a spot, you're part of the same experience.
Why Cedar Creek
Cedar Creek sits in a rare pocket of Central Texas, in the Lost Pines country of Bastrop County. Austin, the airport, Circuit of the Americas and historic Bastrop are all within about half an hour, and McKinney Roughs Nature Park — 18-plus miles of trails along the river — is practically next door. It's close enough to everything and far enough from the noise.
How we host
We keep River Bend Bliss small on purpose: one house and four RV sites. That means the property never feels crowded, the river is always right there in the backyard, and when you text with a question you get a quick, real answer. Guests mention it often — families on spring break, RV travelers passing through, and crews in town on work assignments all say the same thing: responsive, accommodating hosts.
